Originally to be found in Brian's 1974 book Squirrels, this is my personal favourite from the book and it makes an utterly gorgeous print ! Now on the verge of extinction, red squirrels were still quite plentiful in 1970's Britain and in Europe-with UK numbers standing at around 160 000, the majority of them now live in Scotland, Northern England & Ireland . Most recently, a colony was discovered in the Yorkshire Dales, according to the BBC, and their protection will be overseen by the newly formed Yorkshire Dales Red Squirrel Alliance, a new volunteer group.' Keep up the great work !' is all I can say - We want our red squirrels back ! In the meantime, this oh-so-adorable little one will be more than happy to live indoors, on your wall !
